Going Deeper: What Worked?

Here are some of the key takeaways for me from this:

1. What Resonated Most

The theme of 2024 was clearly AI product management. Though I only wrote a few posts on it, you all loved them.

We’ll double down on hitting the trendiest topics in 2025.

Growth case studies and career development also resonated, so we’ll continue that.

2. Don’t Rely on One Acquisition Channel

Growth this year was phenomenal, from 90K to 151K subscribers.

But the same channels did not always deliver. X, fka Twitter, went from a huge driver to almost nothing at all. And, LinkedIn has decreased.

So I had to shift more to Substack and SEO.

3. PM is Not The Same Everywhere

This newsletter has a highly global readership. And the content has reflected that: touching on Indian and European PM topics, not just US one’s.

I’ll continue to.

4. In the Era of AI, Good Writing and Research Matters More than Ever

You can get so much AI-driven slop on the web now. I’m focusing on:

1. Depth > Breadth

2. Practical > Theoretical

3. Specific > General

4. Stories > Frameworks
