I spent the last 11 days building you a Company OS in Claude Code

One piece of software to create huge leverage

It’s been 11 days since my last deep dive. Because I’ve been knee deep in this one.

I’ve built what I think is the single most important software for you right now:

A company operating system that lives live in Slack, Telegram, iMessage, and Github that keeps working even when you’re asleep.

Why This Matters

Let me ask you: how many questions did you get this week that were just “context?”

  • When is the feature going to go out?

  • Can you share me the results of launching this feature?

  • Can you look at this before it goes out?

I know when I was a PM and VP of Product I got at least 10 pings like this a day. As the founder of a media company with 5 revenue lines, I now get even more.

But do the math: 10 pings at 10 minutes each is over 8 hours a week! That’s 20% of your productivity. Gone. To routing.

What if I said you could cut that time in half?

Introducing the Company OS

I learned something pretty extraordinary from two Chief Product Officers (CPOs) I recently had on the podcast:

They’ve built entire operating systems that work in Slack for their teams.

  • Jiaona Zhang built the harness so well CSMs are shipping to production!

  • Meanwhile, Mikhail Shcheglov made the entire system accessible by Telegram, added self-improving skills, and a way to measure shared context amongst your teams.

So I’ve spent the past 11 days knee deep in building a system like that for you. What I ended up building in the end is a system + an assistant.

Because, look, your setup is going to be different than Mikhail and Jiaona’s. Maybe you’re in a bigger enterprise with more security controls, for instance.

So, I invested in building out the enterprise controls like roles and permissions, as well as a dashboard for the person pushing the company OS out:

Plus, a helpful assistant that will literally help you with the early adoption and use cases messages with your team:

Then I tested the thing with my own team, and hardened it after all the learnings.

Now I’m ready to share it with you.

Everything You Get

What you get in the Company Operating System

What Happened When My Team Used It

The guy who manages my brand partnerships got asked for a media kit. We don’t really have one (just a Passionfroot page). So I asked the bot: have any other sponsors ever asked for one?

It read twelve months of sponsor emails and answered in seconds: yes, three by name, and more who asked for the same numbers in other words.

So I typed one line in Slack: let’s build a media kit.

Three minutes later it had a PRD built from that email, a prototype plan, an engineering spec and a task list for the engineering agent (all powered by my top skills from my PM OS, content OS, and Team OS’s):

After human approval, we now have a media kit page live on the site.

That’s the CSM-ships-to-production loop Jiaona built at Laurel, running live inside my company!

You can have that too.

How to get it

  1. Paid subscribers: Company OS is included. The download is right below the paywall.

  2. Founding members: you get the whole stack: Company OS, Team OS and PM OS.

  3. Not a subscriber? Become a paid subscriber or buy it on Gumroad for $49, one time.

Could You Build This Yourself?

Sure. By my description of it, you could set out a Claude Code agent to build this.

But do you really want to spend the 11 days of testing?

Not get all the features I didn’t mention?

For instance, it has:

  1. Shared skills. Anyone can add repeatedly used skills into the OS, from Github or Slack. Think of an analyst tell you how to correctly analyze a feature.

  2. Shared context

  3. A security layer

  4. Access where people work

And that’s just some of the other stuff I’m teasing…

I have the time to build a full-featured company OS because I write this newsletter. You don’t really have that luxury.

Why You Should Put in the Time Here

Companies are now formally evaluating you on AI usage, AKA AI Fluency. I showed Wade Foster, the CEO at Zapier (and arguably the origin of this trend), three levels of PM usage of AI:

  1. Basic ChatGPT: he gave that a “Capable” rating

  2. A Claude OS like my PM OS: he gave that an “Adoptive” rating

  3. A complete Company OS for building: he gave that a “Transformative” rating

So if you’re pushing for a great AI Fluency rating, implementing something like this can help.

The Deep Dive

🔒 For paid subscribers, everything you need to roll out a Company OS at your company:

  1. The Basic Intro

  2. How to Build the Context

  3. How to Implement Shared Skills

  4. The ‘CSM to Production’ Playbook
