My place for deep research on tech, product, and careers

I share my deep research on product management, growth, and technology. After a long career in PM, I rose to VP of Product at $1.6B Series C

The newsletter is all about diving into product growth, company case studies, and new tech trends. I write about 3 main topics:

The Premium Subscription

Within my newsletter, there’s also a paid portion.

This is all of my deep content. Whereas the free content tends to be about 2,500 characters, the paid content is 2,500 words+.

🔒 Paid content has included:

I promise it will have a >10x ROI on your career, or get your money back.

Expensing the newsletter

Many readers expense this newsletter to their learning, training, or professional development budget. Here is an email to use with your manager.

Here’s the math:

  • Let’s say you make $150K USD / year (some of you make more).

  • You work 200 days per year.

  • So if you earn 2 hours of additional productivity from this newsletter, a 0.1% improvement, the company has its $150 subscription paid back.

  • Purchase pricing parity: if you are based in a country with lower income compared to the US and Western Europe, email me at with your country of residence to get a more affordable option.

  • Students: if you are a current student, email me at with your current level of school to get a specific discount.

Changing credit card details

Do you need to change your credit card details? Go to this page to manage your subscription, and hit “Update” next to “Payment details” and enter your new card details.

Changing your email

Want to move your subscription to a different email? Follow the steps here. Go to your Substack settings page and change your email address there.

Usage guidelines & sharing content

One subscription is intended for one individual, and not for groups. See the ‘Group/company subscriptions’ on details for group subscriptions.

Occasional forwarding of newsletter issues internally is completely fine. If you find yourself doing this regularly, please consider getting those people a subscription - or gifting them one!

My business philosophy is that if you, as a customer, are not happy, then I’m not happy. I have a 30-day, no-questions-asked refund policy. Please email for a full refund.

I appreciate if you can share the reason you are unhappy with the contents or purchase, but doing so is not necessary for a refund.

Publishing schedule and holidays

Product Growth publishes twice a week on most weeks. Expect to get ~100 issues in your inbox, every year.

Exceptions to this are holidays: spring break, summer break and winter break. In total, take about 4 weeks off per year. In 2024, these are expected to be:

  • Mar 8-15: Spring break

  • July 4-11: Summer Break

  • 10-20 October : Fall break

  • 26 December - 31 December: Christmas break

I appreciate your understanding and thank you for your ongoing support.

This schedule can be changed in case of unexpected events.

Product Growth is primarily a paid newsletter. But you can choose to “buy out” the paywall from a piece in exchange for a top roll, mid roll, and bottom roll ad in a piece.

This will give all free subscribers access to the paid deep dive, courtesy of you. The cost for this is the expected value of paid subscribers that would come from the piece. Email for more information.

This option has been used from brands like Round and Feather to Zeda and BuildBetter.
