Crocs' an insightful read. On Apple, their Privacy marketing is a great strategy. Amongst all the buzz on how users are just data mines for big-tech Apple quietly strong-fisted (or created a perception) of being user friendly in a data-sense way.

However the general accusation on Apple is that it has stopped being an innovation factory and it's become a Operations powerhouse (under Tim) which is exploiting it's brand power to extract higher margins, compared with Microsoft's days during Ballmer.

I can't find any product innovation in your list too. Closed ecosystem is Microsoft's playbook. Will lower price points eventually dilute Apple's brand? Or is the privacy play signaling a true shift in their strategy? Probably time will answer.

A great piece, indeed. Thanks.

Awesome reflections. That is Microsoft’s playbook! I’ll need to dive into this further in another piece. Thanks for reading!

I loved the insight into Deep Product Management. I am conflicted in overstepping into some of the duties that TPMs and Tech leads could easily perform and afraid that it might set false expectations for future projects. However - I agree it's wiser to err on the deeper side when speaking with LT.

Great point. Have to “pick your spots” to go deep.
