The Smarty screenshot is extremely interesting because it is basically what everyone claims they’re doing with AI and very few actually are! Thats gold itself!

The Smarty example sticks because Matt shows his actual sessions, not the polished after-the-fact version. The post frames Claude as a brilliant new hire that wants to deliver before it understands you. Most "I use AI" claims skip the part where you close that gap. That's the work the screenshot accidentally documents.

The flat projection problem Wensing names is real, and it goes well beyond AI.. That exact pattern, racing to a complete-looking answer before genuinely understanding the problem space, shows up in how most product teams work with senior stakeholders too.

The fix is the same: build the mental model in layers, abstract frameworks before concrete constraints.

One thing the interview doesn't quite surface thought - if you're getting slop from Claude, ask whether your brief was actually clear enough to deserve something better.this forces discipline on AI output that separates mediocre product briefs from ones executives actually engage with..
